Visa Bulletin and Predictions

The visa bulletin wait for certain foreign nationals especially for Indian nationals seeking benefits, is just like waiting for “lottery results”.  Both the EB2 and EB3 waiting time for Indians are horribly backlogged.  As such everybody wants to have an idea when their dates will come through. Unfortunately many turn to “famous fortune teller forums” to tell them when their dates will be current so that they can either apply or obtain their green cards.

Some have actually developed an “art” to predict the dates when certain categories will go current.  The truth is that none of these predictions have actually been proven precise unless  the predictions are from the State Department itself.  Many non-lawyer forums have actually taken advantage of endless awaiting immigrants by offering a false hope  tract service.  The truth is that such forums are providing legal advice without a license and are probably committing some crimes under State and Federal laws. Yet because they are often owned by other big corporations such as insurance companies, nobody has ever taken them on.  So they continue giving wrong information and disinformation to the community.  Lately the Department of Homeland Security has been going out of their ways to denounce false immigration consultants or “notarios” and yet has completely ignored those abusive websites which only take advantage of people. We hope the DHS will actually start shutting down all those false websites which are not owned by lawyers.

So far the only truthful information on visa bulletin predictions have been coming from the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the State Department.  Whenever someone is giving you predictions on this matter, please  make sure they are referring to AILA and meetings with the State Department. While it can be fun and interesting to refer to the so called tracking websites, they are nothing but forums which often offer false information and providing advices without a license.
